GSB-Gowd Saraswath Brahmins - konkani speaking people

Most of my freinds know me as kiran baliga, i am a GSB. Gowd Saraswath Brahmin, basically from Goa from where our forefathers migrated to southern part of INDIA while Portuguese invaded Goa
The surnames of GSBs are
GSB's have surnames like Ajgaonkar, Salkar, Asgaonkar, Bandivadekar, Madkaikar, Borkar, Sakhalkar, Sawerdekar, Haldwanekar, Chimbalkar, Navelkar, Marathe, Lotlikar, Salwankar, Karlekar, Burake, Bhagav,Bhatkar, Tendulkar, Tergaonkar, Patkar, Juvale, Dhonde, Shinkar, Shendre, Shetye, Bokade, Takur, Gawade, Potkar, Askekar, Shenai, Gavalkar, Shembekar, Lanjolkar etc. which are the original local village names of Gomantak. The word 'Kar" means "From" or citizen of
Surnames indicating the profession adopted by the Saraswats like Pai, Purohit, Nayak etc.
Kekre (or Kenkre) were those involved in the highest of the religious practices known as 'Kenkaarya.' Hence this is the highest regarded surname in GSB community. These were originally from Kumbharjuve (in Goa). The Kekres later spread with the advent of Marathas and Peshwas and are known to have settled in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Shenoy- Originally for the Shenvis in Goa. Since most of them took up Administrative jobs they were called Shanbhags (officers) which later became Shenoy.
Pai- Pai in Konkani language means foot or leg. The common person who had not amassed wealth or power was known as Pai.Their job was menial in maintaining ledgers and doing odd jobs. The Pai who was mainly ledger keepers.
Kamat – Those in agriculture were called Kamathi. Mathi means soil and Kama is work, that is working in soil ( Kama + Mathi). Later this became Kamat.
Keni, Kini- Those who cultivated herbs were Kinvis, presently called Kini or Keni/Keny.
Vaidya- Those who prepared the concoction was prepared and dispensed it
Hegde- The animals required for tilling, transportation and other works were under Haya- Gade (actually Horse tenderer), modernized to Hegde. One more realistic origin of this surname is in Kannada and this surname is used by GSBs in Karnataka. He-gade (Hiriya Gade or head man in Kannada) possibly was heading a village or a settlement. A similar surname of Hegde is followed by other communities in coastal Karnataka like Havyakas, Bunts and Jains.
Nayak, Rao- Those worked as Army commandants were called Nayaks. Some Nayaks who were honoured by the King with titles like Ravubahadur adopted Rao as their Surname
Baliga – The daily requirements of every family for survival, presentations, etc. were the responsibility of the Ballo. There is another theory that the foot soldier with a spear was called Ballo. The soldier Ballo (Baliga) was under the command of Nayak.
Prabhu – Feudal lords called themselves Prabhu. He lived in a palatial home called mahal, and the caretaker was known as Mahalyar, presently modernized to Mallya.
Acharya, Bhat and Vadhyar- The poojas in the big temple and its rituals were under Acharya, and in small temples conducted by Bhat. Every family had exclusive priest to perform the rites, and he was the family Purohit and was called Vadhyar.
Mahajan- The temples were administered by Mahajans
Bhandarkar, Divkar- Stores and godown keepers were called Bhandari or Bhandarkar.
Nadkarni, Kulkarni- A person maintaining statistics was called Karni. Land was called Nadu, and the person maintaining land records was known as Nadkarni, and Kulkarni maintained census, and social register.
Bhakta – Doing odd jobs in temples and poojas.
Shanbhag- Shanbhags were mainly Clerks doing administrative jobs as well.

FACE BOOK and MY IFF Friends..

Recently my Girl Friend dumped me on IFF as well as Face book. she posted on my wall.... she just posted ,,three lovely words .. its not I HATE YOU..... it was ITS OVER ASSHOLE..hahahaha.... and the strange thing was that hurt me most was that it got arround 100 likes..hahaha..and all those buggers were from my Friend list..and funniset part was my MOM and DAD also left a comment..that was "LOL "....face book has become faster than the speed that light travels.hahaha cause the whole worlds knows the next second who dumped who..lolSAD ...my kaam wali bai who is also computer savy knows the breaking news..lol .. and i could only end up saying the comment..even i thought of dumping her.. but my net was down.
one more interesting thing.. a mutual friend a very pretty girl updates her status as.. "miss you mom".. within a hour or so she gets hell a number of response from..guys wanting to have her in their buddy list..with a comment.. CHO CHWEET, oh nooooo.. etc etc.. which ends with ":aww moms are the best..please accept my friend request"....i too thought of updating my status, i miss you mom. and i did not get a single like.. but a comment after 4 days that was from my DAD..grow up son..lol

Fiends. recently i got a offer to act in tamil movies, from a handle in IFF by name "Salem cinemas" offering me to act in their tamil movies .. lol i always add humor and have fun by chatting saying i am gonna make a comedy movie..and this day some i get a offer isnt that funny...lol

Friends are like balloons, once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong.. Sometimes we just don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late. A - always take time for your self, at least 30 minutes / day
B - beware of your won stress meter,know when to sleep back and cool down
C - concentrate on controlling your own situation,without controlling everybody else
D - daily exercise will burn of stress chemicals
E - eat lots of fresh fruitsm juicesm veggies, and drink lots of water
F - forgive others and dont hold grudges,and be tolerant, not every body is capable like you
G - gain perspective on things, how imp is the issue
H - huggs, kisses and laughter,have fun, dont be afriad to share your feelings with others
I - identify stressors and plan to deal with them better next time
J - judge your performance realistically,do not set goals out of your own reach,
K - know your strenght, be positive,
L - limit alcohol. and other smitulants, they affect your behavior
M - manage money well. seek some advice,and save 10% at least
N - No is the word u need to use with out feeling guilty.this is most imp
0 - out door activities with ur freidns and family cab be a great way to relax
P -play your fav music rather than watching TV
Q -quit smoking,
R - relationship- nurture them and enjoy them
S - sleep well witha firm mattress and a supportive pillow, dont over heat your selves
T - treat your self once in a month with massage,
U - understand things also from others point of view
V - verify info before explodind or loosing ur temper
W -worry less,its doesnt actully solve ur problems, be cool and think
X - xpress your desire and feeling , share those with some one closer to you
Y - yearly goal settings actually what u wanna achive this year
Z - zest for life, each day is a gift, be thankful to GOD and have that smile on your lovely wonderful face,
cheers and keep that million$ smile on your afce always glowing like a 1000 watts bulb

Dear Friends,
we have witnessed so much uncertainties across the world,may be its Egypt, Syria, Bahrain,or Libya, and now we just have witnessed ROITS in Great Britain,my heart goes out for those who have lost their valuables as well as livelihood, and may be all of us here may have our Friends family members and relatives out there in UK,
