Prosperous Diwali to All of You Nov 4, 2010 10:47 am

According to one theory Diwali may have originated as a harvest festival, marking the last harvest of the year before winter. In an agrarian society this results in businessmen closing accounts, and beginning a new accounting year. The Goddess Lakshmi (the Goddess of wealth in Hinduism) thanked and worshipped on this day and everyone prays for a good and prosperous year ahead. This is the common factor in Diwali celebrations all over the Indian subcontinent.

Many legends are associated with Diwali. Today it is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs across the globe as the “Festival of Light” or “Celebration of Light” where the lights or lamps signify victory of good over evil within every human being.

In many parts of India, it is the homecoming of King Rama of Ayodhya after a 14-year exile in the forest. The people of Ayodhya (the capital of his kingdom) welcomed Rama by lighting rows (avali) of lamps (deepa), thus its name, Deepawali / Deepavali, or simply shortened as Diwali. South India marks this day when Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura. In western India it is also in honor of the day King Bali went to rule the nether-world by the order of Vishnu.

In Jainism it marks the nirvana of Lord Mahavira, which occurred on October 15, 527 BCE. The Sikhs celebrate Diwali for a different reason. On this day, the Sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind Ji, was freed from imprisonment along with 52 Hindu Kings (political prisoners) whom he had arranged to be released as well.

According to allstarhealth.com, kelp is "a sea vegetable" that is related to brown algae. It grows in nearly all the major oceans of the world. Several varieties of kelp exist, including rockweed, laminaria and bladderwrack, the three most common types of sea kelp used in supplements. Sea kelp comes in liquid and powder forms, but tablets and capsules remain the most popular supplement choice.

kelp is rich in nutrients, "10 times richer in minerals than any known land crop." Kelp contains "over 60 minerals and elements, 21 amino acids, simple and complex carbohydrates and several essential plant growth hormones."

Kelp tablets normalize your body weight, meaning if you're overweight you will lose weight or gain it if needed. Realize you'll burn more calories every hour when you take an iodine-rich kelp tablet each day. Kelp stimulates "a hormone produced by the thyroid gland that's responsible for boosting metabolism...Kelp is very useful for thyroid-related obesity."

Stimulate your hair growth when you take kelp tablets. Kelp is known to prevent hair loss, and even "regenerate hair if the follicle is still alive."

Being a natural source of iodine, kelp is an antibiotic. Additionally, because it's so high in iodine, kelp keeps your thyroid healthy. Thyroid disease is very low in Japan.

Note that Japanese women also have a low rate of breast cancer and both men and women have low rates of heart disease, which may be due to eating dietary kelp. Receive numerous other benefits from your kelp tablets, such as reducing enlarged prostates in men, enhancing brain health, relieving constipation, eczema, edema, poor digestion and menstrual problems.

Buy kelp tablets at your local natural health food store or online. Taking kelp supplements is a very inexpensive way to get an abundance of nutrients, minerals and vitamins your body needs for health.

Don't gather wild kelp for eating---it can contain contaminants from the sea.

love by candle light...:) Oct 29, 2010 3:48 am

I think its romantic. but at the same time.. not too much. and not too close..cos i think i would be scared that something might catch on fire...
i personally like an array of colours.Lots of red or pink ones..any colour candle…

but not all the time. If they are used to often, it takes the romance away. It does not matter what color… just so long as they smell good.

Candles are wonderfull, They set the mood just right and its really romantic, Red candles is what everyone would pick cause it means “LOVE” but you don’t necessarily need to pick red candles any will do because if the women really loves you and shes a romantic person then its the thought that counts and that’s all that matters, Good Luck..

one in five adults are in love with someone other than their partner. Oct 28, 2010 3:46 am

We are certainly capable of experiencing sexual feelings for someone other than our spouse or partner.I think it's not surprising that in this day and age we fall for other people even though we're in serious (generally happy) relationships. We are surrounded by others now more so than ever. A lot of us spend more time at work than we do with our partner, and interact a great deal with work colleagues, and build a relationship with them.

I know this happens quite easily and uncontrollable, you do not choose who you love.Of course it is possible to love someone other than your partner. It is even possible to love more than one person at the same time.

When it comes to extramarital affairs, situations can be very complicated as both have commitment ring attached to their ring finger. They blame their partners for their behavior...and eventually, after making themselves and everyone around them miserable for an indefinite, but usually, long period of time, they end their relationships or marriages. how sad...!!!When your partner is cheating you, it is never pleasant.
honesty is important, it's a trust factor.Being honest about your feelings is vitally important for love is no lie.

Love isn't about separating. Love is about uniting.
Learn to have no expectations of your partner.(NOT EASY..I KNW) When you have no expectations then love can do you no wrong.

Welcome problems with a smile because even problems are merely love in disguise.DNT EVER CHEAT YOUR LOVING LIFE PARTNER...

As with all relationship issues, working through issues about sexual ... A common saying is that "the brain is the most important sexual organ,A healthy brain increases your chances for intimacy and great sex.

" A healthy sex life is part of a healthy lifestyle. When you're having a loving and exciting intimate relationship with your partner, you feel fulfilled and energized. Sex also has physical benefits that help you stay well.

"Sex can be a wonderful cementer or a terrible wedge [for relationships]," says Dr. Linda Banner, Ph.D., a licensed sex therapist and a researcher associated with Stanford University Medical School.

Nurturing your desire for one another should always be there and that includes physical intimacy. More so when couple gets married.love and affection should be involved...You don’t need to have sex everyday for the relationship to remain solid..but don’t neglect to give the spouse that physical sexual romance that the body hungers for.If there’s not sex involve then you must not be feeling anything desirable about your partner. Am I right? Heh.

Killing the Girl Child... Oct 27, 2010 3:02 am
2198 Views

It is said that God created mothers because He could not be present everywhere. Its unbelievable to realize that a God’s representative is continuously killing someone beautiful even before she can come out and see the beauty of nature.

India is a country where social disadvantage outweighs natural biological advantage of being a girl. A whole range of discriminatory practices including female foeticide, female infanticide, female genital mutilation, son idolization, early marriage and dowry have buried the future of the nation. In India, discriminatory practices have greatly influenced the health and well-being of a girl child, resulting in a higher mortality rate.

It is believed that every year 12 million girls are born in the country but unfortunately only 1/3 of those survive. Some are killed in the womb, some at the time of birth, some die due to ill health and some due to poor nutritional status. Only a few numbers of girls are able to survive till their 15th birthday.

Girl child is the future of every nation and India is no exception. A little amount of care, a handful of warmth and a heart full of love for a girl child can make a big difference. Close your eyes, free your thoughts and hear the voice of God, He is saying something to all of us, “Save Me”.

There is a reason behind our birth. Oct 26, 2010 4:03 am
1763 Views

You know that when a child is born it cries. And when it cries we know that the child is alive. We want that sound to come. But why, when the child is born, does it begin to cry? It is a question. All this time in mother’s womb and now it comes out. And when it comes out to this world, it remembers at the threshold, at that moment when it comes, it remembers its past life, Oh! What a fate, again I am in this world. This is why the child cries. The laughing, smiling, comes later.

The wisdom is there in the child at that moment to say, I should not come into this world with this fault. I should work toward emancipation. But then as we come to the world, we get involved so much that we just forget what we knew at our birth time.

So, our afflictions are the root. The karmas that we have done earlier yield fruit. If you have done good thing, good fruit. Bad thing, bad fruit. Virtuous thing, virtuous fruit. Non-virtuous thing, non-virtuous fruit.

We may even kill ourselves to achieve happiness..!!!!!!!!!!! Oct 21, 2010 4:29 am
1893 Views

why do I feel pleasure and pain, happiness and sadness, love and hate, joy and grief? humans aren't content with just survival and reproduction. We want more.

We want happiness. And it isn't enough for us to just be content because as soon as we've achieved a state of happiness, we seek more happiness. The desire to seek happiness is hardwired into our brains. It is, for us, the meaning of life, the goal of every moment of our existence.

We will even create pain in our lives if we believe that it will lead to happiness. We may even kill ourselves to achieve happiness in the afterlife.

Without hope of future happiness, we have no reason to go on. Give more than you take. Do your best to leave every situation better than you found it. Seek beauty in all its forms. Chase dreams. Watch sunsets..Let yourself cry /laugh when your body tells you to. Love more. Delight in silliness. Don't be bitter. Forgive. Forgive. Forgive.

Life is a dazzling and confusing array of choices....enjoy each moment of your precious life....LOVE YOU ALL........

Why do people live off of hurting others? Oct 19, 2010 6:05 am
1868 Views
I know some people who literally don't care who they hurt and use people for their own purposes. I find it very wierd.Stay away from such people.Sometimes, itsn't possible to do so, for they may be closely related to you..then Learn to face them. Never ever say hurting things to people of your own accord. I too feel very strongly on this subject.....but if they insist on misbehaving, PLEASE LEARN TO RETORT...Never lose your CALM, though. Don't let them ruffle you.If you are spiritual, pray to your god, "I have forgiven him/her, please forgive him too."SENSE O HUMOUR is a wonderful thing. Try to use it in such situations. Laugh them off when you can.Take care of yourself

Sleep is good when
dreaming of you
but cant sleep when im
thinking about you...
Being with u is what i need now.

I will give you a
loving hug everyday
No matter whether
the sky is sunny or gray..
Waiting lonely for this kiss
something that i would never miss..
my love for you will never die.!

I thought love was
a mirage of the mind,
its fake, an illusion, impossible to find.

but deep in my heart i truly know
you are the one i love..
and one day You might love me too.
